Landmark Cleaning Agenda Early 2026
A range of common area cleaning activities will occur at the first available opportunity after the site is handed back to Owners in the first quarter of 2026.
Canberra Strata will keep Owners updated on the dates and details for these activities as they are scheduled following completion of rectification works.
Pfeiffer Garden Report
The extensive gardens of Landmark are unique. There is nothing else like them in Canberra’s residential marketplace. They provide space for contemplation and entertainment, and places of tranquillity and shade in our warming climate.
They also provide a significant financial value shared by all owners of Landmark apartments. Extrapolating from figures provided by the Valuer General, we estimate the more than two hectares of our gardens have a land value of around $60 million. Of course, the value to us all is much more than financial, but ascribing a dollar value helps us appreciate the importance of maintaining and enhancing our gardens.
The year ahead will be critical in establishing the direction of our gardens. It is hoped that this process will be informed by the review of the state of the gardens conducted in 2022 by the original designer of the Landmark gardens, Mr James Pfeiffer, a professional horticulturist and landscape designer. While the Pfeiffer report has previously been posted in the gym (and will remain there for the immediate future), the documents at the link above contain the information from the report in a more accessible format for owners to consider at their leisure.

Landmark gardens suggestions
Following discussions hosted on “Landmark Green” by the Landmark Garden Committee on Tuesday 14 October 2025, committee member Gary Petherbridge offered to respond to questions or suggestions about the way forward for our gardens. Please send your questions (perhaps up to three ideas) to Gary at: galyn1@bigpond.net.au
Laneway closure
Unfortunately (and very inconveniently) the pedestrian laneway between Blackall Street (near 47 Blackall) and Brisbane Avenue has been closed for the foreseeable future due to demolition and building work on Brisbane. The options for pedestrian access to Brisbane Avenue (and beyond) from Landmark are to walk around the block via Macquarie Street (longest option), or follow the path between 3 Bowen Drive and 47 Blackall, along Bowen Drive towards Kingston (a more physically challenging option for some).

My Community management portal
In the past Landmark Apartments owners and tenants were provided with an edited version of Landmark EC committee minutes via a dot point summary. Owners can log onto the Canberra Strata portal to access a wealth of owner-specific management information including their account information and complete minutes from the monthly EC meetings.
From 2021 owners and tenants have received newsletters containing pertinent information. Those newsletters, which will also be published on this website, will also contain updates on such developments as the long awaited storm damage rectification project.
